Ambalapuzha Temple

Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Swamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and is an iconic pilgrimage site. It was built during the 15th–17th centuries by the Chembakassery dynasty. It is one of the major Vaishnava temples of Travancore. Kerala architecture in the Ambalapuzha temple is adorned with stunning murals that depict Vishnu’s avatars. The beautiful wooden carvings and tiled roofs reflect the artistic legacy of Kerala. Ambalappuzha is known as the birthplace of the vibrant art form Ottanthullal and hosts a martial dance called Velakali. The temple is famous for Pal Payasam, a sweet rice pudding offered to the devotees.
